Samsung Galaxy S5 ‘premium’ model to be made of stainless steel, plastic

Korea has claimed that there will be with a blend of stainless steel to increase the endurance of the phone and plastic to check the weight of the Samsung Galaxy S5’premium’.

The report claims that the rear panel covering the battery compartment will be made of metal and it will be cast alongside a plastic material. The report also tells that the South Korean manufacturers is also working on the ‘premium’ variant of Samsung Galaxy S5 might come with aluminimum and magnesium chassis with a sealed battery.

The earlier report is indicating that Samsung will release the alleged Galaxy S5 in two versions:

  • A premium version with metal body and flexible OLED
  • A variant with usual plastic body

South Korea is working on Samsung Galaxy F with a metal body and it could be launched in 2014 after the release of the rumored Galaxy S5.

 Kyle Brown, Head of Technical Product Management within Samsung’s IM division, which covers smartphones, tablets and wearables, said: “Samsung as a business is always looking at what the best materials are to get the right offering to the customer. Samsung is obviously looking at the way other manufacturers have made that premium feel. I think at the same time that the answer to that is that our devices are very light, very durable and we can manufacturer them in a way that we can give a great offering to our customers.”

Main specifications are :

  • 3 GB of RAM
  • A 16-Megapixel rear camera
  • A 4000 mAh battery
  • Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI
